Your veterinarian

Meet Dr. Kaitlyn Shaheen

Dr. Shaheen founded Horsetooth Veterinary Services to give Northern Colorado families one trusted veterinarian for every animal they care for — the barn horses and the dogs and cats on the couch.

She practices both equine and small animal medicine, and built the practice around unhurried visits, clear explanations, and diagnostics that travel. Whether it's a 2 a.m. colic or a nervous cat's annual exam, you get the same doctor who knows your animals and your property.

“Animals are calmer at home, and owners ask better questions there. Bringing the clinic to them is simply better medicine.”

Questions

Mobile vet FAQ

Do you see horses and small animals?

Yes. We're a hybrid mobile practice. Dr. Shaheen cares for horses at the barn and for dogs and cats at home, often in the same visit.

What areas do you cover?

The greater Fort Collins area, including Loveland, Windsor, Timnath, Wellington, Laporte, Bellvue, Berthoud, Masonville, Severance, Johnstown and Livermore. If you're just outside that area, call and ask.

Can you take X-rays and do ultrasound at my barn or home?

Yes. Our vehicle carries a complete imaging suite with digital radiography and ultrasound, so images are taken and reviewed on-site during the visit.

Do you handle equine emergencies like colic?

Yes. We provide urgent care and emergency services for horses, including colic, lacerations, choke, eye injuries and sudden lameness. Call rather than email for anything urgent.

How do I book a house call?
